IGNASI BUXÓ I GOU (1869 - 1944), clay of de Saint Cosme |
|
Ignasi Buxó, related with the world of the saints in his youth, ingenious and creative man, has passed to the local history, as the best sculptor in type of his time.
With his brother Jeroni, founded the Artistic Industry Buxó brothers; a family company dedicated to the terracotta figures. The pieces of the brothers Buxó were modelled with clay of the well-known area of San Cosme, near Olot. Later they prepared this raw material in the warehouse of the yard in their house.
Thanks to the great domain of the drawing demonstrated in his youth, Ignasi created a serial of very expressive characters, with all detail, think very highly of people and that he released in many other places. They are very dynamic figures, full of life; smiling and nice figures that radiate optimism and with a very careful technique.
